MAC Morning with Gemma Collins

Everytime I go to Gemmas, I could literally stay there hours gossiping and chatting away over absolute jibba jabba but I swear she is busier than me and we never stand still before she has to jet off to film or a photo shoot. Its a never ending story but we make the most of the time we have together.

I love a bit of MAC and bought lots of things so Gemma and I had a lovely morning as well as a giggle getting ready for her to wizz of to the filming of TOWIE.

I usually mix and match products on Gemma according to the look she wants to achieve but we decided to do a bit of MAC loving today.

I apologise for the way I look in the picture. I was so busy taking the pic I didn't know where I was looking.

As you can see from her outfit, Gemma had a very glamourous event to go to so we didn't hold back on hair and makeup!

For her hair we decided on a Kim Kardashian-esque look with soft curls at the ends and swept away from the face volume on top. Just a lit bit more of a glamourous look for today. Don't even ask me how I did this look without any rollers, tongs, straightners or hairdryer. Just a backcombing brush and a can of hairspray. Gemma kept asking me how I was going to achieve it and all I kept saying was 'leave it to me!' It was so funny looking at Gemmas confused face in the mirror.

We wanted a glam look but still very captivating to Gemmas features.

Glam New Products for Jan 2012

New year, New products.

I love seeing new products come out and I thought it would be good for you all to see all the lovely products out to treat yourself....

Barry M - Croc Nail Effect £3.99
Croc Nail Effects is a stunning development following the best selling crackle range. These cracks appear in a more uniform mock-croc style pattern.
Apply a base colour, after a few minutes when the nail paint is still a bit tacky apply a coat of Croc Nail Effects. Watch the amazing effect appear in a few minutes. The effect takes a bit longer to appear than the crackle but it is worth it! Can't wait to try it...and they they bring out a leopard one I'll buy in bulk.

Benefit - Watt's Up! highlighter £24.50
Turn on 'watt' ya got! Our delicate champagne sheer highlighter smoothes on a gorgeous glow. Glide on cheek & brow bones...then sculpt with its soft glow blender for the perfect gleam. With a cream-to-powder finish... it's a switch-on "wow" for all complexions. I love dewy skin so this will be one to add to my kit and my make-up bag.

M.A.C - False Lashes Extreme Black £18.00
Midnight meets its match with a Mascara that creates vixen volume by filling in sparse lashes, magnifying & by multiplying magnificently. Builds captivating curl & divine density with a velvety-fabulous finish. I have tried many mascaras. It is so hard to find a mascara that does everything that it says it does. I trust MAC so bring it on!!!

O.P.I - NICKI MINAJ - Stylish and Sassy Shades £10.50

Left to right: Pink Friday, Did it on 'Em, Fly, Metallic 4 Life, Save Me, Super Base Shatter

Found in professional salons and homes all over the world, OPI offer award-winning nail care products that no woman should be without. OPI nail polish is the choice of Hollywood's A-listers and even if you've never walked the red carpet, OPI will make you look as if you have. With a new fantastic range in some amazing colours sure to fly off the shelves. can't wait to try Pink Friday, pastels are coming for spring/summer!

Lancome - L'absolu Rouge Lipstick £19.50
An advanced replenishing and reshaping lip colour that contains Pro-Xylane and SPF 12 sunscreen.
Pamper your lips with this creamy and luscious formula. It contains Pro-Xylane, a complete and powerful replenishing molecule that creates visibly fuller and smoother lips. The SPF 12 sunscreen protects against environmental damage and UV rays and the satiny, saturated colour wraps lips in luxury so they are left absolutely replenished, feel softer and moister for hours.

Soap and Glory - Kick Ass Concealer £10.00
This concealer is a three - piece flaw camouflaging kit that includes an amazing under eye brightening concealer, an 'on the spot' as-you-need-it complexion concealer, and a weightless transparent setting powder. A must have for people with dark circles, heavy eyes and in need of getting back that sparkle.

Nars - Paramaribo Eye Duo Metallic Bronze Shades (price unknown)
This eyeshadow duo is from the spring 2012 collection which isn't released online until  January 13th. The duo contains my two favourite words which are metallic and bronze. I can't wait for it to come out and I'm definitely pre-ordering and will let you know what I think.

Chanel - Blush Horizon De Chanel (roughly £37.50) may vary when it arrives in the UK
This is a new and limited blush for springtime. It’s described as an “elegant highlighting face powder”
The new Glowing Blush Harmony is a stunning palette of soft luminous pinks, white, plum, peachy-pink and gold. I believe this will be a universally flattering pink. It has a good mixture of cool and warm tones with the alternating stripes. There are several variations of pink to suit everyone's taste. This powder I took a soft blush brush and swirled the colours together before applying. On the face this is a very soft glowing pink, not overly frosty, but a hint of shimmer is visible on the face. Each stripe appears to have a different degree of shimmer which I find lovely. On a medium-toned olive skin like mine it gives a soft medium pink glow.

Vamp It Up!

Everywhere I look I see all these amazing images of what I call "Vamp Glamour". Edgy, sexy dark looks which are a huge craze. Now you might be thinking "Gothic Rock" but don't. It's popular with nails, lips, eyes and making its way over to hair with women picking rich dark sultry colours to add the extra edge to their locks.

Vamp Magazines

Vamp Celebs

Chanel started a craze many moons ago with Rouge Noir (one of my all time favourite colours) and many other brands caught onto it knowing it was a winner.

The catwalks, magazines and red carpets are full of women who dare to vamp it up and show their dark side. Whether its lips, eyes, nails or all three it makes a bold statement and will continue to rock the world of Glamour for many years to come.

An all time classic is nails. Weather its red, black, purple, blue or green. The dark shades are very popular and if your nails are slightly shorter it makes more of an impact. Vamp nails can glam up any look and take your look from daytime to evening, soft to edgy and can set of any outfit. Make sure when applying a dark nail polish to apply 2 coats. If your going to do vamp, do it properly.

Two nail ranges in particular that have a great range of Vamp colours are O.P.I and Jessica. With a lovely glossy finish and a wide range of colours they are bound to fly off the shelves.

As a makeup artist it took me a long time to perfect dark makeup. You have to practise to get all your lines precise or it can look very messy and untidy. Don't worry it is very achievable and will look amazing when done correctly. I would recommend that you wear the Vamp Look only in the evening or special occasion as it can look too dramatic for a daytime look. If you feel uncomfortable mix it up a little. Wear dark eyes with neutral lips or dark lips with neutral eyes until you find the balance that you comfortable with. Dark eyes can be messy, you don't want to look like you have been bunched in the face but don't be scared.

Keep it smokey, keep it bold, keep it sultry!!!!!!!

As you can see the look can be done many ways and looks stunning. And for those of you wondering you don't have to be dark haired or dark complection to pull it off. Some blondes strut their vampy side with confidence and style.

Get practising, have fun and don't forget everyone has a dark side!!!
